Chatjet used as a moderated chat
Here you can see Chatjet used as a single-windows moderated chat. Public chat between users is not permitted here. All questions written are automatically forwarded to the moderators. After a moderator approves a question it will then be displayed to the interview guest. This way it is impossible for the users to publish defamatory statements or any kind of awkward questions.
Another specialty in this chat is the integrated Online-Poll enabling the users to vote on a topic set by the moderator. The vote statistics are updated in real-time while votes are counted.
The moderated chat features a transcript function with separate HTML formatting setup for convenient off-line reading. This transcript is updated in real-time while the chat is running.
This chat also features some kind of file-sharing: The moderator is able to upload files (images, PDF-documents etc.) to the server, which then are displayed in the right panel of the chat for download by the users.
Here are some more features that may be used in moderated chats:
- All functions relevant to moderation may be adjusted to fit the moderators needs (e.g. assign moderation commands to buttons)
- Automatic moderation, content control, bad-word-lists using external robots
- Restricting functions to special user classes, e.g. Moderators are allowed to insert images, normal users are not
- Automatic allocation of "microphones" (permissions to write) similar to a panel discussion. A defined number of users are allowed to write at the same time. After a defined number of written lines the "microphone" of a user is taken away and assigned to the next user in the queue. Using this kind of moderation it is possible to hold huge open chat events without doing any kind of censorship
